Jessica Rougeot has taught in France, New Caledonia, China and Australia – at some of Melbourne’s most prestigious private schools. Most recently this included six years as a Senior French Teacher at Melbourne Grammar School. She is an active VCAA oral and written assessor, garnering her a unique and specific insight into what it takes to succeed in VCE French.
She completed an academic Major in French at Monash University, including a year living and working in New Caledonia as a Language Assistant at Lycée Professionnel Commercial et Hôtelier Auguste Escoffier. It was in Noumea that she discovered her passion for teaching languages.
Following this experience, she completed a Diploma of Education at Monash University, receiving a Dean’s ‘Award for Excellence’ in 2008.
She completed her first full time role as a French teacher at St Leonards College in 2009, but her personal ambition to become fully bilingual remained. She traveled to France in 2010 to pursue her dream. While working at the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry as an English teacher, Jessica met her French husband; further enmeshing her to the country and language she loves.
Jessica now dedicates herself to tutoring French online. Her diverse teaching experience, her mastery of French and her passion for helping students thrive, set her apart.
““The best feeling is that light bulb moment – when you see a student start to get it! Giving them the tools they need to reach this point is why I teach and work as hard as I do. “”
